ความยิ่งใหญ่ของ Facebook
การสร้าง Data center ที่ประเทศสิงคโปร์ (จากงาน Cloud expo 2019 EP1)

Facebook ได้นำเสนอให้ทราบถึง Road map 10 ปี ของ Facebook โดย
เริ่มแรกมีแค่ facebook กับ instagram
ต่อมาก็ขยับขยายในส่วนของ Video , search , group
จนมาถึงในปัจจุบันมี WhatApp, Messenger , Workplace , marketplace
และก้าวต่อไปก็คือ เรื่องการเชื่อมต่อ เรื่อง AI , และของผสานในส่วนของโลกเวอร์ชวล VR&AR เข้าไป
ทำไมต้องมีการขยาย Data center เพิ่มใน Asia
ปัจจุบันใน SEA อันดับ 1 จะเป็นอินโดนีเซียแต่ถ้า อันดับ 1 ของโลกจะเป็น อินเดีย และของไทยยังอยู่ที่อันดับ 8
ก็ไม่น่าแปลกใจที่เลือกที่ตั้งใหม่เป็นสิงคโปร์ด้วยปัจจัยที่ว่า
ปัจจุบันสิงคโปร์เป็น HUB ด้าน network ที่ดี รองลงมาจะเป็นฮ่องกง แต่เนื่องด้วยในส่วนของที่ดิน และ เรื่องของการเมืองการปกครอง สิงคโปร์จะได้เปรียบมากกว่า

The World Bank recently named Singapore as the number-one country in Asia to do business.”

และในเนื้อหาบน facebook เองก็มีกล่าวถึงการลดการใช้พลังงานโดยการพัฒนาโซล่าเซลล์ เพื่อนำมาผลิตไฟฟ้าหมุนเวียนใช้ใน data center อีกด้วย
ในปัจจุบันเองบริษัทใหญ่ๆ เช่น google , microsoft หรือ Amazon ก็มีการสร้าง data center เองและกระจายตัวไปในหลายๆ ที่เพื่อลดต้นทุนในการไปเช่า Data center รวมถึงสามารถพัฒนาเพิ่มเติม service ใหม่ๆให้ลูกค้าได้ในอนาคต เช่น Cloud Service เป็นต้น
ซึ่งต่อไปเราอาจจะเห็น service ใหม่ของทาง facebook ซึ่งอาจจะให้บริการ cloud servers ก็เป็นได้ เพราะการสร้าง Data center ก็ใช้เงินทุนค่อนข้างเยอะ หากสามารถ utilize resource ที่ไม่ได้ใช้งานบางส่วนให้เกิดประโยชน์และคุ้มค่า ก็เป็นไปได้ที่ทาง facebook อาจจะลงมาเล่นในตลาด ของ Cloud service หรือ IaAS, PaAS ก็เป็นได้
